As a fan of fantasy films and Steven Spielberg movies growing up as a kid, it’s good to know that such classic spins on Jurassic Park gets the attention it deserves in this generation of viewers especially the young ones. When it first appeared on screen in 1993, it had a huge following and became a mammoth blockbuster hit that year.
Mind-boggling action from start to finish is what viewers should expect from this movie. I watched this movie together with my friend Fil-American Abed Green at SM City North EDSA IMAX cinema on June 15. The cinema was jam-packed with viewers and there were kids who were also amused by the sight of dinosaurs. Indeed, the movie is about “endangered species” in which for this instance, the last species of dinosaurs on earth where scientists had discovered in a place called Nibular, somewhere in the African continent.
There was a cameo role by Jeff Goldblum who also appeared in the 1993 Jurassic Park movie and the one who delivered an important speech by the end of the film about animal preservation and humans co-existing with these ancient creatures. The actors were good, the special effects were great, and story has a resemblance with other ‘Jurassic’ movies. Overall, it was worth the ticket and time watching an adventure movie that brings back to us memories of childhood and the wonders of these creatures that lived before us, and the lesson taught that we should preserve the creatures that God had created and should be taken care of by us, human beings.
Being watched in an IMAX theatre, it really brought us closer to the sights and sounds of the movie, thanks to the 3D treatment and the larger scale images brought by IMAX theatre. The experience was really worth the time and money spent. This brilliant action-adventure movie is highly recommended, and I give it 4 ½ stars out of five.
